Our best hiking tours
1. Samevistet and Fallmoranfallet 7.5 km
This is our absolute favourite hiking tour! The hike along the bare mountain offers impressive views and beautiful nature experiences. The hike starts at Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa. Take the trail up to the right towards the mountain and then continue onto Karl XI's road. After 1 km, take the summer trail towards Samevistet. Then it is signposted to Fallmorafallet. In the wooded areas around the fall you can look for mountain orchids and other mountain flowers. To walk back from Samevistet, head towards Karl XI:s väg and after 1.5 km turn left back to Storhogna.
2. Fettjeåfallet 3.5 km
Visit Sweden's highest waterfall, enjoy the sound of the rushing water and the beautiful views of nature. The trail starts at the car park five km north of Klövsjö ski area, you can easily follow the signs from the area. Start the hike and walk towards the windbreak, then follow Fettjeån upstream. The path is partly paved and winds through the deep forests. After about two kilometres you reach the beautiful Fettjeåfallet waterfall and the picnic area with barbecue. There is firewood to buy on site if you want to make a fire in the barbecue. You walk the same way back to the car park.
3rd Pluppstigen 0.8 km
The most fun hike for the little ones! The trail starts behind our Sports centre. Along the 0.8 km trail, you'll find plenty of Plupp activities. Jump on stumps, walk a tightrope, taste the mountain water and visit Plupp's hut. At the start of the trail there is also a playground with a slide, climbing frame and swing.
4. NEW Hildnings led, Storhogna 6 km
A new hiking trail that goes around Storhogna's mountains and takes you on an adventure in the history of Vemdalen. Start at Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa and hike up Slättfjället to Örnstenen. Follow the Karl XI trail southwards towards Vemdalsskalet. The trail turns left and follows the ravine towards Prostgraven. According to the story, the ravine got its name when a priest was buried there who died on his journey along Karl XI's trail. The ravine is also a wind-protected valley where you can easily find a place for a coffee break. Continue south until you reach the connecting track between Vemdalsskalet and Storhogna. There you turn left and follow the connecting track towards Storhogna and back to Högfjällshotellet. Hilding's trail is named after Hilding Zakrisson, who owns Fjällgården. The tour can just as well be done clockwise, from the other direction. It is also possible to start at Storhogna M.
